Reminiscing ...

of the good ol days...Back when I was young and just fresh into the military. Funny because anyone who knows me still asks me what I was thinking joining the military when I have such an authority problem, but it was a good time in my life...It's where my life really began, I was out from under my parents, I thought I was bad. lol. *DISCLAIMER* these were taken yrs ago (1997) with film so don't mind the graininess.

1st Basic Training, I am in touch with 2 of these girls (The 2 on the left) still and I am grateful for their friendship! (I'm in the middle):


Here I am in Tech school washing a load with my girl Peaches...Peach remember this drink Strawberry sunkist?? lol do they even make that flavor anymore? Ah Tech school, all the fun we had:


Then there was a place called the V, forgot what it stood for (I think it was the Vandenberg), but it was the ONLY place we were allowed to hang out and drink if we were of legal age, This is Monique (LBC, lol), Peaches, and Me, I'm still in touch with these girls today!:


1st assignment: Japan...Where I had a BLAST! I lived life to the fullest here. Kim remember this one? Oh how I miss authentic Japanese food!:

My 2nd car in Japan was a beamer, oh I really thought I was bad after buying this baby! (My 1st car that I crashed into the base burger king was a honda prelude, eh hem):


And Japan is where I met my husband, it took me traveling the globe to find him This is my combat dining in what a FUN night, I laughed so hard tat night I think I peed a lil:


OK enough reminiscing...hopefully I wont be as lazy tomorrow and I'll go out to actually take some pictures. Enjoy girls, I'm so glad we r still in touch!!

A night time walk, enjoying the breeze

Went on an evening stroll the other night for some ice cream before dinner, what a treat, the girls thought the ice cream WAS dinner. lol. How disappointed they were when they had to eat food after, they r never satisfied. I enjoyed the breeze so much and I got a few shots

I'm a night owl, I love the moon and stars, and the light cast down from street lamps:

The girls were able to ride their bikes the whole way, they loved that, Mariel was excited to finally learn how to ride standing up:

Saw these odd flowers that made me think of a special friend of mine in NY who LOVES flowers, and although I don't, I knew she'd appreciate these, See? Told u I could appreciate the beauty in them even though I'll NEVER have em in my house:

Mari Mari Mari, I'm loving this!!!!

That in a nutshell, is my friend here; Mari...She knows y. lol. I had fun with this shoot as I do with ALL my shoots (plus she's a friend of mine). I especially love these shoots because after wards I get to show these woman what they forget when looking in the mirror, what others see when they look at these woman, what they forget while they are knee deep in laundry, homework, fighting, crying, soccer games, grocery shopping, and bathtime (among MANY other things)...Mari here is GORGEOUS! I don't even know what else to say...Just look at her, I didn't have to do much to process and at the shoot I didn't have to do much posing, I asked her here to climb on the bed and look at me THAT'S IT! Lovin the eyes girl. Enjoy!!! I will continue to work on more throughout the week. THANK YOU for allowing me to capture your beauty!



P.S. She is a cosmotologist/Hairsylist so she did her own hair and make-up and she's doing my hair in 2 weeks. lol. Can't wait!

18-52 POM...Music is my life

There is not much I do on a daily basis that does not involve music in some way...I wake up to music, I dance to music, I laugh to music, I clean to music, I play to music...Music is my life, my style is eclectic, but my fave is Salsa and Reggaeton. I'd be lost without my music, it creates my mood or helps describe it sometimes. I can hear a song from a long time ago and it transports me back to that moment...I can remember a lot when I hear a certain song. I'm listening to music now as I post here. I LOVE MUSIC!! Not only for it's rhythm but also sometimes for it's words, when I'm at a loss for words, when I can't explain myself to someone, I dedicate a song...I write poetry, but I take the easy way out a lot because music just touches me so much. It's a creative outlet, like photography, like singing, like dancing, like painting.


Tomorrow I have another Boudoir shoot and I can't wait...so I wont be posting untill later that day so I can process her pix! (While listening to music OF COURSE!)

Home sick 24/7

Is this proof enough that I am ALWAYS home sick? Everywhere I go people stop me to comment on my vanity plates. Great conversation starter, I had a couple from Connecticut crack up and stop me because they wanted to tell me I nailed it with how we pronounce my great state. lol. And of course, I always have to have my flag representing my heritage!! Hubby has his up too. He wont allow me to put stickers on the car so I have the plate and the flag. I'm workin on him though.:

I didn't have to go too far yesterday to grab these shots...I stepped out the back door and saw amazing things. God never ceases to amaze me with all the beauty that surrounds us!!

I just love the glow of shots like this, it puts me in a happy place.
I love animals, and I really love birds in particular...I had one as a kid named princessa...can't remember what type of bird she was...Mom, Pop, do u? Anyway, I threw some bread out, hid behind a column on my porch and waited, this guy was slick, he landed, stared, grabbed and flew all in a matter of seconds. lol. Here he is checking me out:

Lil sister

I didn't take this picture...My lil bro did (The fam is pretty talented)...but I did the processing after wards...which I really like. Here is my beautiful lil sister, she is the other half of the duo "Cord of Three" (My bro makes up the other half).

I posted the b4 and after to show the diff after processing, this is all I got today, I sort of bummed around yesterday so I have no new pix...lol. I'm such a slacker (Thanx for sending me some work D):

I've been dying to go there and take some pictures but parking is a trip ova there...but got some yesterday and so I was able to step out for a while and grab some shots, not many, but some:

Yesterday

Mario actually came home early and had some daylight to play with the baby boy, and he enjoyed it. And I was able to get some great sun flare shots...well one. Either way, I'm a sucker for sun flare!!!:

Baby boy tried to run away yesterday. And he thought it was the funniest thing. lol.:


The moon, ah, I LOVE the moon, I am a creature of night...I love the night, I am a night owl, and I LOVE the light the moon cast's on the streets, it just spills over everything and leaves this glow...it's so beautiful, the moon was out early yesterday and it was gibbous...but still it was out:

Day at the park

I had a nice time yesterday...I finally left my house and took the kids to eat lunch and to the park with a home girl of mine...I only had time to process a few pix from then so I will post more later, or tomorrow.

Here's handsome face enjoying the slide, it took me forever to get this shot...Amy knows. lol:

The girls on the other hand were ALL too willing subjects...they r truly a photog's child, all day it was "Mommy, take a picture of this", "Mommy look!" or they'd actually climb a tree in the hopes that I would see them and snap away. lol:
